Parker River National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1942 to provide feeding, resting, and nesting habitat for migratory birds. The refuge occupies 4,662 acres on the southern two-thirds of Plum Island, a barrier island on the Northeast coast of Massachusetts.
I spent the entire day just walking around The Red Apple Farm. I went to take photos of the beautiful fall colors but as you may have noticed, got a little side tracked with the animals. It was obvious they were all well taken care of and associated people with food. Everyone who walked up to the enclosure was greeted with almost a stampede of animals. The baby pigs literally ran up and shoved their snouts into your hand to see if you brought them a gift. This is a great place to bring family and spend the day.
